We lost one of the true inspirations for the creative world with the passing of David Kennedy.
David, who was one of the co-founders of Wieden_+_Kennedy, was fundamental to the mindset of the agency and its achievements. It was not only their continued drive to inspire with creative campaigns that pushed the boundaries, but also their insistence to remain independent.
Wieden + Kennedy has created some of the most iconic advertising campaigns ever made. Famous campaigns included Nike and Honda among other clients. Notable work under Kennedy and Wieden’s creative direction included an advert for Honda scooters famously featuring music and an appearance by Lou Reed. They were also the mastermind behind some of Nike‘s most famous commercials. Notable examples include “Walt Stack,” which was Nike’s first “Just Do It” commercial and the “Bo Knows” series of ads.
David is just as well known for his inspirational leadership. His warmth and openness are underpinned with humility.
His legacy and spirit live on 💚.
