Adidas launch innovative shoe box made from mushrooms

Did you know that mushrooms can be used to create almost anything? 🍄

The “mycelium” inside the mushroom is a biodegradable and cost-effective material that can be used to design and produce a range of items.

Adidas and streetwear designer Daniel Bailey, a.k.a Mr Bailey, collaborated on a pair of shoes called OZLUCENT, but it’s the packaging made of mushrooms that is being talked about.

R&D studio, Black Ink Projects, designed the packaging, which is made from a biodegradable mushroom material – replacing polystyrene. The box is so strong that it can last up to 30 years. We love that it decomposes in about 45 days. The inner bag is also made of sugar cane and cellulose material. ♻️

We think mushrooms are something to watch out for in the structure and design of packaging production. 💚
